I’m a ceramic animal sculptor who aims to capture the quirks and characters of each subject, a process which inspires my creativity infinitely.
ABOUT MY WORK
In Total Creative Control From Start to Finish
My work in inspired by nature. I make dogs, wildlife and endangered animals. I create each piece in my own unique style with a quirky way that hopes to raise a smile on your face and an instinctive response of pleasure. I do like to experiment and push myself with new processes and techniques. I am always leaning and hope never to stop.

I enjoy working alongside fellow ceramic artists and moving my own practice along. Watching, experimenting and learning is part of the long heritage of ceramic practice and one I’m keen to carry on.

I have also created a new range of work that I have dubbed ‘Potimals’. These are animal sculptures that are mounted on thrown pots. This technique allows me to use poses and show details that would be impossible with a self-supporting structure. I start most of my animal forms with a paper armature. These pieces are usually made of white stoneware clay that I prefer for its versatility and ability to hold more impactful colours.
